The app
What does Go Viral do?
It analyzes a short video before you post it and writes material for the next one. Import a clip or paste a TikTok, Reels or Shorts link and you get a hook score for the first three seconds, a viral view forecast and an engagement heat map. Separate tools generate hooks, scripts, hashtags and ideas from a topic.
Which platforms does it analyze?
TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts. The analysis reads the video file, so where the clip came from and where it will be posted do not change the result.
Which devices and iOS versions are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 17.0 or later. There is no Android or web version of this app.
Which languages is the app available in?
Nine: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Swedish and Chinese. The interface follows your device language.
Hook score
What is the hook score?
A 0 to 100 rating of the first three seconds of a video: whether the first frame moves, whether a promise is made on screen or out loud, and how quickly the reason to keep watching arrives. It scores the opening only, not the whole clip.
What is a good hook score?
Seventy and above means the opening is doing its job. Forty to sixty-nine works for viewers already interested in the topic but does not stop a stranger. Under forty, recut the opening before anything else. These bands are guidance for prioritising edits, not thresholds any platform uses.
Why did two very different videos get the same score?
Occasionally two openings really are equally strong or weak. If it keeps happening on clips that are clearly different, something is wrong and we want to see the clips: email support with both files.
View forecast
How accurate is the view forecast?
It is an estimate from what is inside the clip: the hook, the pacing and the likely retention curve. It cannot see when you post, whether the sound is trending or how your recent videos performed, so it is most reliable when comparing two cuts of the same video on the same day. Treat it as a band, not a number.
Does a high forecast mean the video will go viral?
No. A high forecast means the clip has the properties that videos which travel tend to have. Timing, the sound, the audience and luck all sit outside the file. The footer of every page on this site says the same thing, on purpose.
Heat map and retention
What does the engagement heat map show?
Second by second, where viewers are most likely to leave and which moments are most likely to be replayed. Warm colours mark drop-off risk; replay markers show the strongest moments. It is an estimate made before posting; once a video is live, TikTok's own retention graph is the truth and the heat map is the rehearsal.
How do I use the heat map to edit?
Find the second where the curve bends, cut two seconds on either side of it, and score the new cut. If the strongest replay moment is late in the clip, ask whether it could be the opening instead.
Generators and hashtags
How does the hook generator work?
Type a topic, pick the platform, and it writes several opening lines across six hook types: curiosity gap, contrarian, result first, point of view, numbered promise and cold-open story. Record the two you can say naturally and score both takes.
How does the hashtag finder choose tags?
It returns a tiered set of three to five: one broad tag, one or two category tags and one or two niche tags, each balanced between reach and competition so the video sits in at least one queue short enough to rank in.
Can the script generator write for Reels and Shorts?
Yes. Choose the platform and length. The beat sheet is the same; Shorts gets a searchable phrase in the first line and Reels puts more weight on the visual note for the first frame.
Privacy
What happens to the videos I upload?
They are processed to produce the analysis and are not stored permanently on our servers. We do not collect personal information that identifies you individually. The privacy policy has the full statement.
Can I have my data deleted?
Yes. Email support from the address on the support page and say which device you used.
Subscriptions
Is Go Viral free?
The app is free to download and a subscription is required to use all features. Current plans and prices are shown in the app and on the App Store listing.
How do I cancel?
Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, Subscriptions, Go Viral, Cancel Subscription. Access continues to the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

App Store refunds are decided by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, find the charge and request a refund. Email support if you need help with the request.
Billing and import problems are covered on the support page.
